Worms & Life

WORMS and John Conway’s LIFE can be compared.  Curiously, many of the assumptions and goals are in direct conflict.  This makes WORMS the “opposite” of LIFE in many respects.

The fact that permutations are finite means that WORMS is a game that can be fully explored.  In this site all permutations are available for review in a pattern library.  Some very large patterns whose ultimate conclusions were beyond computing abilities are only partially shown.  Thus, while the study of this particular game is mostly complete, there is still room for challenges at the upper end of memory and computing time restraints.
